About Homegrown Harvest

About Us

We are a tiny backyard garden that starting as a small salad garden project that blossomed into a small vegetable farm.

We’re not a large operation, just two people tending to about 67 raised garden beds and a tiny greenhouse, growing what we can, when we can, while both working full‑time day jobs. Because of that, our products are limited, seasonal, and deeply tied to the time and care we’re able to put into them.

Every item we offer is something we’ve personally grown, crafted, or learned to make through hands‑on experience.

We follow organic growing methods, though we are not certified organic. Our focus is on healthy, natural, and sustainable practices that respect the land and produce strong, vibrant plants.

Our offerings change with the seasons and include:

  • Naturally grown vegetable starts for home gardeners
  • Small‑batch canned goods made from our own harvest
  • Handcrafted herbal wellness products, including tinctures and salves

As we continue to grow and learn, we’re excited to share that catering services will be added in the coming years. Our goal is to bring the same homegrown quality, creativity, and farm‑fresh ingredients to local events and gatherings.

We're a small, sincere, and always evolving. A place where good food, good land, and good people come together. We’re grateful to have you along for the journey.

Plant Starts

Plant Starts

We grow in small batches, so each seedling gets the attention it needs to become strong, healthy, and ready for Vermont gardens.

We begin all of our plants indoors in our custom-built seed‑starting stand, where temperature, airflow, and light are carefully managed to give each seed the best possible start. As soon as the days lengthen and the greenhouse warms in late March, the young plants are moved into their next stage of growth, hardening off naturally in sunlight while staying protected from early‑season cold.

Our growing process follows organic practices from start to finish. We use ProMix MPO Organic as our soil base and feed our plants with AgroThrive organic fertilizer, ensuring they develop strong roots, vibrant foliage, and reliable performance once transplanted into your garden.

The result is a collection of hardy, well‑established starts that are easy to plant, quick to adapt, and ready to thrive in Vermont’s unique climate.

Canned Goods

Our canned goods are made in small batches using produce grown in our garden. Every jar reflects the same care and attention we put into our gardens — fresh ingredients, clean flavors, and recipes that highlight the best of each season.

We prepare all of our canned goods in our home kitchen, following safe, tested, and approved canning recipes to ensure quality and consistency. Whenever our garden has a lighter harvest or a particular crop is slow to produce, we supplement with produce from Full Belly Farm, a trusted local partner whose growing practices align with our own.

Our process focuses on freshness, safety, and transparency. We use only our own harvest or locally sourced produce, and we never use artificial additives or shortcuts. Each batch is crafted with the same care you’d expect from a family kitchen, because that’s exactly where it’s made.

FDA-required statement: These products are made in a home kitchen that is not inspected by the Department of Health.

Herbal Remedies

Herbal Remedies

Our herbal remedies are crafted in small batches using medicinal herbs grown in our medicinal herb bed and all throughout our garden.

We focus on traditional, plant‑based wellness made with care, intention, and respect for the plants we work with.

We grow the majority of our medicinal herbs on our property, tending each plant from seed to harvest. When a particular herb is in short supply or the season is challenging, we source additional botanicals from Bulk Apothecary, purchasing only high‑quality, bulk herbs that align with our standards.

Every remedy begins with clean, thoughtfully grown ingredients.

Our tinctures, salves, herbal teas, and infused oils are made using organic carrier oils and simple, time‑tested methods. Each product is created in small batches to maintain quality, consistency, and potency.

We believe in transparency and responsible herbal use. While our remedies are crafted with care, they are not a substitute for professional medical advice.

FDA‑required statements: These products are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. We are not medical professionals. Please consult with a qualified healthcare provider before using herbal products, especially if you are pregnant, nursing, taking medications, or managing a health condition. Educate yourself about herbs and how they interact with your body before use.

In addition to our plant starts, canned goods, and herbal remedies, we also create a variety of small‑batch spices and dehydrated products using herbs and vegetables grown in our raised beds.

We harvest our herbs at peak flavor, dehydrate them slowly, and grind them into fresh, aromatic seasonings, from single‑herb spices to blends made from our garden.

We also dehydrate our garlic to make garlic powder, garlic flakes, and grinder‑ready garlic chips that add incredible flavor to any dish.

Dehydrated vegetables and herbs are wonderfully versatile in the kitchen. When added to soups, stews, sauces, or marinades, they naturally reconstitute, absorbing moisture and returning to the same shape and texture they had when fresh. This makes them an easy, shelf‑stable way to enjoy garden flavor all year long, with no compromise in quality.
